Job and Economic Prospects

Being in the midst of an economic recession it is difficult to fathom good news, especially when every news media outlet loves the horrific. Having experienced numerous recessions the patterns are all extremely similiar. First the Massive layoffs, terrible financial reporting and no upturn in sight. Gladly we are almost through this period. What comes next? Slow but progressive positive news. There are companies that exist in this market that are hiring, they are being very particular but they are definitely bringing new employers on board. Being an Executive Recruiter in the Oil and Gas, Mining , Power Generation and Chemical industries I am seeing the slow but positive changes daily. Companies are not going to go back to the “wild west hiring anyone who comes through our door” attitude but if you have talents that are needed you can find a very fruitful and rewarding position in this market.

I am interested in hearing from you and getting your perspective on the job market in your area of specialization.Write to me and tell me what you are experiencing.
